Introducing Sussex

Outstanding Natural Beauty and Award Winning WIne

Home to the South Downs National Park, Sussex is an area of outstanding natural beauty, within which, you can find some of the exquisite, and beautiful, vineyards in the World.

Sussex is fast becoming a region known internationally as producing the best Sparkling Wine, with Sussex wine growers taking home internationally prestigious awards such as "Best Sparkling Wine".

The chalk soils of the South Downs, coupled by the high latitutes of West-facing fields create the perfect conditions for long and productive growing seasons. Complementary in enabling grapes to grow their full maturity, Sussex's climate is influenced greatly by continental weather, bringing hot, and humid weather in the Summer months.

Sussex is located in Southern England, a region closest to continental Europe. July is the warmest month with mean temperatures in Sussex around 23 degrees. Favourably to vineyards, Sussex is also the sunniest county in the UK with average annual sunshine hours exceeding 1800 hours.
